Dave currently supports the KNSPS through his evaluation of the course. He has extensive experience of Initial Teacher Education having worked as an External Examiner of four different University PGCE courses between 2003 and 2015 and as the evaluator for the Keele University PGCE from 2011 – 2014. He was a secondary mathematics teacher before joining the Keele University Education Department where he worked for 25 years including 1996 – 2002 as the University’s Director of Teacher Education. He is known internationally for his research, development of materials and academic and professional publications related to the use of Interactive Whiteboards (IWBs). Dave has delivered Professional Development internationally on the effective use of IWBs and leads on the IWB component of the course for the KNSPS trainees. He is also involved in the local Maths Hub where he is a member of the Steering Committee and has worked with them since their inception two years ago on the national Shanghai Mathematics project (feeding this into the KNSPS), subject development of secondary mathematics teachers and a flipped learning project.
