Amy began her career in Education as a Teaching Assistant working one to one with a child with a visual impairment in a school where there was a wide range of behaviour and emotional needs, and SEND children. She then qualified as a teacher through the Graduate Teacher Programme route. Amy worked in Primary schools for 10 years with a variety of roles including Science and PE leader, building significant levels of progress of children’s learning through Key Stage One and beyond. She has always been passionate about child centred learning and ensuring the curriculum is engaging, exciting, forward thinking and progressive for the children.
Amy completed the Reflection on Practice module with KNSTE and joined the tutor team in 2016. She is a personal tutor, specialism tutor and leads the Geography specialism sessions. Amy strives to nurture her ATs to achieve their best throughout the course.
Amy also runs her own business delivering Forest School sessions to Schools across Staffordshire.
